The Jess Pies Story — “We Spread Joy, One Pie at a Time”
In 2011, I baked my first pie — not for a business, but as a personal challenge.
I didn’t expect that simple act to spark something so meaningful. The moment I pulled that pie out of the oven, I felt an overwhelming sense of joy — the kind that comes from creating, sharing, and connecting. From then on, I kept baking for family and friends, just to pass along that same feeling. Each pie became a small act of love and optimism.
Fast-forward to 2023. Life looked very different: I was deep in my corporate career, but the joy that once fueled me was fading. So I turned back to the thing that had always lifted me — baking. That Thanksgiving, I made 11 pies to commemorate the year of my first bake. Every single one sold out. The feedback was instant, heartfelt, and deeply affirming. I realized I didn’t want to lose that feeling again.
That moment became the seed of Jess Pies Baked Goods — founded between 2023 and 2025 as a passion project with a simple goal: to spread joy through scratch-made pies and cookies. Our first offerings were humble — three classic pies (Apple 🍎, Sweet Potato 🍠, and Pecan 🥧) and two cookies (Brown Butter Chocolate Chip and Oatmeal Gingersnap). Each was rooted in warmth, nostalgia, and community.
Then life took another turn. In the summer of 2025, I was laid off from my corporate role — just weeks before welcoming my second child. It was one of those pivotal moments that could have been defined by fear. Instead, I chose faith — and flour. I leaned into my calling to spread joy, turning what began as a side hustle into a full-time purpose.
Today, Jess Pies Baked Goods isn’t just a bakery — it’s a movement built around joy, resilience, and connection. Our mission is to remind people that no matter what chapter you’re in, small acts of joy can change everything — your day, your year, even your life.
